Citytripz

Paris (2010)

Arc de Triomphe / Champs - Elysées
Notre Dame
Boottocht Seine
Sacre Coeur
Louvre
Eifeltoren
Hôtel National des Invalides
La Defense
Lafayette
St. Roche
Pompidou
Parc du Luxembourg
Versaille
 Patheon
Rodin Museum

Paris was surprisingly beautifull. Especially at night, it had a nice atmosphere and there was a lot to do. The sights were varied; from museums to shoppingmalls, from the famous Eiffel Tower to the modern architecture of La Défense! The trip to Versaille was definitely worth it!
Biggest discovery: La Défense.
Recommended duration: 4 days (including Versaille)

New York City (2011)

With a lot of high expectations, I visited NY. Nevertheless, this city still had this "Waauw!"-effect! There is so much to see, the people are very friendly and the contrast between buildings and parks in Manhattan is incredible. To me, this is definitely the most pleasant and most beautiful city I have visited so far. For some tickets, it's necessary to book in advance.
Biggest discovery: Central Park.
Recommended duration: 5 days minimum!

I visited: St. Patricks Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Public Library, Times Square, Little Italy, USS Intrepid, Central Park, Columbia University, Brooklyn Bridge, Vrijheidsbeeld & Ellis Island, Broadway Musical, South Street Seaport District, Chinatown & Empire State Building.

London (2012)

I've seen a lot in London. Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, Musical, St. Paul Cathedral, Maddam Tussauds, Boat trip on the Thames & Stonehenge.
Biggest discovery: the view from the St. Paul Cathedral.
Recommended duration: 4 days (including Stonehenge)

My trip to London took place during The Games, which made the city much more crowded.
In my opinion, this city was as nice as Paris was, but still hard to compare.
The sights are more modern and less varied.
The excursion to Stonehenge didn't take as long as I'd expected. So I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't back away from a little bit of history. Like the 2 previous cities,  London has a solid metro-system.
Hereby, it's possible to see a lot in only a couple of days.

Helsinki (2013)

This citytrip was a short stop during my trip to Lapland. Via the Finnair shuttlebus, you can get in half an hour to the center of the Finnish capital. Helsinki has in comparison to the previous cities not so much to offer. You can visit everything (exept museums) in 1 day. In the more crowded shopping streets, you can find some ambiance. This is what is visited: Esplanadi park, Uspenski Cathedral, Helsinki Harbor, Temppeliaukio & Helsinki Cathedral.
Recommended duration: 1 full day

Edinburgh (2013)

Meanwhile, I have visited a lot of cities, but Edinburgh is really something else. You can see it immediately, a medieval town in a modern age! It's the second biggest city of the country. All tough 2 days is more than enough to experience this city, Edinburgh is a must while traveling trough Scotland. Certainly visit: Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle, Mary King Close, Princes Street Garden, Scotch Whisky Experience, The Royal Mile, St. Giles,...
Biggest discovery: Mary King Close
Recommended duration: 2 days

Prague (2013)

Four days, I've been in Prague. This was more then enough to fully explore the city. Prague is known for a lot of things; ghost city, parties and its historical past. Yet, I find this city somewhat similar to Edinburgh, which I've visited some months ago. Besides a night tour about urban legends, I've seen: the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Sint Agnes Monastery, Old Town Square, Petrin Hill, Jewish cemetery,...
Biggest Discovery: Prague Castle
Recommended duration: 3 days max!

Berlin (2014)

Berlin isn't the ordinary city trip. It's one of the most biggest European cities that isn't well visited by tourists. In my opinion, it still has to be discovered. There are not so many things to visit in comparison to other cities of this size, but it is mainly the structure and architecture that makes this city special. You can still get a good sense of grandeur and order that was present during the rise of the German empire. Of course you can spend a lot of time in museums and shopping malls. Don't miss: Postdamer Platz, Alexander Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall, Cathedral, Berlin Television Tower, City Hall, Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial, ...  Biggest Discovery: Reichstag
Recommended duration: 3 days.
